Scruffy days.

I love to bike...a lot! I cycle to and from work everyday and though I absolutely adore getting lost in my city streets, I could do without my scruffy helmet hair.  Unfortunately, style comes in second to safety, so until they introduce a helmet that does not cause me to have crazy tripped out bangs every morning, I will just have to keep rocking my bent up hair do!

I can totally relate, I love biking as well, feeling the air and the atmosphere of everything around you. And loving the drawing; sometimes getting lost is a nice thing, as you write :)

I love cycling as well, but LOATHE the helmet. I never wore a helmet until I actually got hit by an SUV and after that I counted my lucky stars that I walked away with a crumpled bike but only a sprained ankle. Now I wear a helmet, but I have to say I don't enjoy riding the bike as much anymore. It's weird but I feel like I'm inside a car and want to put on my seat belt after putting on my helmet. No more breeze through my hair... AND at least once a week I get someone yell "Nice helmet" at me from across a playground or parking lot. I bought the most inconspicuous helmet (all black) and still it draws attention :(

Helmet hair is better than no hair! (which is maybe what could happen if you get your scalp scraped on the pavement?) Anyways, yeah, I've been a helmet wearer for about 5 years, but will never go back after taking that face plant into the FedEx truck. Not worth the risk!
@robyn: you should move to Portland, nobody makes fun of helmets here, unless they're an immature 13 year old pre-pubescent boy.

So true...i am a big helmet supporter...and Toronto is pretty helmet friendly as well...i have found when biking in colder weather that wearing a small bike cap underneath my helmet helps with the crazy hair...but in the summer it's just tooo hot for that jazz...also @littlebirdcity can i move to portland too? sounds so awesome there!
